I heard there was a 1940 event at Mt Edgcumbe in Cornwall, so I thought I’d go and see what it was like. While I was there, I bumped into some friends from the Harrowbeer 1940s Weekend!

And then when we stopped for a well earned cup of tea I got chatting to this nice young man. So this picture is titled “When Harry met George!”. Sounds like a good name for a film!!!!

Well then we went back to strolling around looking at the vehicles when I spotted this jeep. It used to be at RAF Harrowbeer during WWII but now lives with Malcolm. He very kindly let me sit in the driving seat but I couldn’t reach the pedals! So I sat on the front to have my picture taken.

Then I spotted Steve’s Staff Car…..

Then it was time to head back to my billet but just time to take in the view from Mt Edgcumbe, looking across to the Royal William Yard.
